Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Fellowships

Disciplines Physical Sciences. School of Engineering. Classical fluid dynamics, physical oceanography, meteorology, astrophysics, planetary atmospheres, geological fluid dynamics, hydromagnetics, physics and applied mathematics.
Requirements Open to graduate students at the pre-dissertation level. Applications from women and members of underrepresented groups are particularly encouraged.
Description Up to 10 fellowships available to graduate students to take part in a 10-week research and study program in geophysical fluid dynamics at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
Citizenship No citizenship requirements.
Award Amount The award includes a stipend of $5,700 and a travel allowance within the United States.

                         Zona International Foundation Amelia Earhart Fellowship

Disciplines Aerospace-related sciences or aerospace-related engineering.
Requirements Applicants must be registered in a full-time Ph.D./doctoral program when funds are received in September and must not graduate before April 2018
Description The Amelia Earhart Fellowship was established in 1938 in honor of famed pilot and Zontian, Amelia Earhart. The US$10,000 Fellowship is awarded annually to 35 women pursuing Ph.D./doctoral degrees in aerospace-related sciences or aerospace-related engineering.

Requirements Able to participate in summer internships at DoD laboratories,
willing to accept post-graduate employment with the DoD,
a student in good standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale at the time of award and, pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in one of the disciplines listed on the About SMART page.
Description Science, Mathematics, and Research For Transformation (SMART) Scholarship Program is a scholarship-for-service program designed to produce the next generation of DoD S&T leaders.
Citizenship A citizen of the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or United Kingdom at time of application,
Award Amount Cash award paid at a rate of $25,000 – $38,000 per year, depending on prior educational experience. Full tuition and related education expenses. Health insurance allowance. Book allowance. Summer internships (multi-year participants). Post-graduation career opportunities
Academic Level SMART offers scholarships to undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students who have demonstrated ability and special aptitude for excelling in STEM fields.

Los Alamos National Laboratory, Graduate Research Assistant Program

Requirements Must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and have completed a bachelor’s degree by date of hire.
Description The laboratory’s focus is on defense and weapons systems, arms control programs, and basic research in national security and energy needs. Graduate research assistant appointments are available for 90 days up to one year, with the option for renewal.
